Cristian Cardona

Cristian was born in Medellin, Colombia. He moved to the United States right after graduating from high school. He played for his high school varsity team and began to play for a satellite team of Atletico Nacional (a professional team from Colombia) in Miami. After a successful season at the club level in Florida, he got recruited to play college soccer in St. Charles, Missouri. He began coaching while being a collegiate athlete in 2012. Cristian completed his first two years of college and then transferred to the University of Central Florida, where he got his bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Science and a minor in Coaching. Cristian then decided to be an exercise professional and pursue professional soccer. Among his most meaningful experiences with competitive soccer are playing with FC Dallas, Orlando Rovers FC, Deportivo Lake Mary, Orlando Storm FC, Central Florida Panthers SC and the Orlando Spartans. Cristian has a Master's degree in Kinesiology and is certified as an Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and as a Sports Nutritionist by the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN). Cristian recently moved to Wisconsin from Florida, where he was working as a coach and youth director with the Orlando City Soccer Academy and as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Central Florida.
